We don’t frequently find albums that capture both our imagination and feet in the way HomeSick’s latest EP has. ISOLATION TAPE is a testament to all things “footwork” can be, with its experimental stylings quickly setting itself apart from the industry norm. The EP, released today via the BSTS imprint, has also been preceded by an audiovisual video as well as a self-designed cassette tape (available via Bandcamp).

ISOLATION TAPE is complex, with its breakbeat rhythms fighting their way into your brain. A brief respite is provided with ‘Arena’, the most “mellow” song on the EP however HomeSick quickly “doubles down” on the scattered, driving style of footwork in the next track. Our favourite track – ‘Weaponized Pleasure’ – invites dark thoughts and darker movements with erraticism reigning in the mind as the bass entrances the listener.
If you’re still a little unsure what to do this Saturday evening, Technowerk recommends you do the healthy, social distanced version of socialising and catch the online album launch. All are welcome – the only requirements being you have an open mind and room to dance as we guarantee you will be unable to keep still with these driving beats.
