Liz Cass’s song ‘Killers’ gets melodic techno remix

Award-winning Dublin producer Matador has taken on remix duties for the new single ‘Killers’ from Liz Cass. The dark trance-inducing melodic techno remix is already proving a radio hit with strong support from Sian Eleri at Radio 1 and Nemone on BBC 6Music.

‘Killers’ is the first single to be taken from Liz Cass’ debut album out next year via Ultra Records. The song is an expansive alt-pop track reflecting the emotive honest songwriting of the London-based singer as she addresses the encompassing effects of depression.

‘Killers’ sees Liz’s beautiful wide-ranging vocals rise above stunning electronic orchestral tones, which results in an intoxicating sound reminiscent to the likes of London Grammar, Lana Del Rey and La Roux.

Regarding the single Liz says, “‘Killers’ was the second song I ever wrote with my producer and co-writer Ed Graves. It finally felt like I was in a safe space to write about the post-natal depression and anxiety that I struggled with after I had my son.

“During that time I felt really disconnected from myself and crippled by it. I became afraid of the dark again as the panic attacks often came at night. I tend to write a lot about the complexities of relationships and toxic connections, but it felt important to use my music to help process this experience. I find music to be an amazing form of therapy. Some of the other songs coming on the album also touch on it as well.”

‘Killers’ is the first taste of the exquisite forthcoming debut album from Liz Cass. It is a soulful touching record intertwined with rich electronics and atmospheric pop showcasing a singer bound to win hearts across the world with her captivating songwriting.
